Wintergreen™ Sweet Viburnum
Here is a new way to provide a large sized hedge or flowering evergreen specimen tree. Dr Ruter of UGA propagated this unusually cold hardy form of Viburnum odoratissima after it survived -8F in North Atlanta. It has remained unharmed and attractive in our nursery (so far 12F). Handsome foliage and heat tolerance make this Sweet Viburnum a good alternate for Osmanthus or larger Ilex. Use it for an evergreen hedge in Zone 8 or Zone 9. Tolerates moderate shade.
