Persian Ironwood
It seems too good-looking to be tough, but it maintains beautiful clean foliage, stands strong in droughty summers, and is heat/cold tolerant. Named 2014 Tree of the Year by Society of Municipal Arborists, Persian Ironwood looks well-placed in tight urban/suburban landscapes where head space is at premium and root space is scarcer; it does well in small cutouts and traffic island planters. While the fall foliage can be as colorful as a parrot, in fact the namesake is colorful botanist, F.W. Parrot who climbed Mt. Ararat in 1829. We grow Persian Ironwood as a standard, natural single-stem & multi-stemmed tree.
