Mississippi Queen Titi
Also known as Titi, this selection was chosen for its beautiful lustrous evergreen foliage. While most seedling Cyrilla hold 25-75% of their foliage through winter, Mississippi Queen holds virtually 100% of its foliage*. In addition, Mississippi Queen has a dense form and more formal branching habit than most seedling Cyrilla and appears to be somewhat more compact, possibly maturing around 10-15’. Like most Cyrilla, this selection is extremely tolerant of saturated conditions, making this a good plant for bio-detention situations. The showy white flower racemes are a pollinator favorite in late spring (May- June). This selection is recommended for zones 8-10. At temperatures below 10 degrees, the foliage may be impacted and drop, but to no detrimental effects to the plant.
