Weeping Japanese Maple
A new style of weeping Japanese Maple, Acer palmatum 'Ryusen' is trained 6-7' tall then unstaked to allow it to strike its own variety of poses: 1. It may continue to grow a leader for a few more feet, while side branches gently weep, or 2. It may send a whip arching from the top, stopping only when it hits the ground, while side branches gently weep, or 3. It may even send out a few significant side branches off to one side and gently mound and weep off in that one direction. Whatever vogue pose or move is executed, it's rated a 10 for originality, grace, and form.
