Our native Osmanthus, known as Devilwood because of the difficulty in working the wood, is the one of the best native examples of treeform evergreen, a niche often represented by the non-native Fragrant Tea Olive or Burford Holly. Seedlings can tend to be semi-evergreen, but Absinthe was chosen for its fully evergreen, lustrous foliage. This small evergreen tree is extremely drought tolerant and, although it is normally found in sandy soils, it is quite tolerant of heavier clay soils as well.

Also known as Titi, this selection was chosen for its beautiful lustrous evergreen foliage. While most seedling Cyrilla hold 25-75% of their foliage through winter, Mississippi Queen holds virtually 100% of its foliage*. In addition, Mississippi Queen has a dense form and more formal branching habit than most seedling Cyrilla and appears to be somewhat more compact, possibly maturing around 10-15’. Like most Cyrilla, this selection is extremely tolerant of saturated conditions, making this a good plant for bio-detention situations. The showy white flower racemes are a pollinator favorite in late spring (May- June). This selection is recommended for zones 8-10. At temperatures below 10 degrees, the foliage may be impacted and drop, but to no detrimental effects to the plant." />
Rachel's Ribboncloud American Fringetree | Bold Spring
Chosen for the overwhelming display of flowers, creating a solid mass of white ribbons which glow when backlit, this American Fringetree selection is perhaps the most floriferous cultivar available. This is also a relatively fast growing selection with strong vertical branching, ultimately achieving a larger size than other cultivars.

If you are looking for a tough urban tree that can handle just about anything you throw at it, look no further. Skyward Baldcypress is a very narrow upright cultivar that has a ton going for it. The name says it all, with a leader and branching that is reaching toward the sky, this Taxodium stays tight and is the perfect selection for a narrow urban setting. We have been impressed with its consistently green foliage through the entire growing season. Oklahoma nurseryman, Mike Lindsey, selected this beauty and in 20+ years it has reached 25' tall x 6-8' wide. It appears to have non-aggressive root system and to this point has had no surface roots or knees." />
